Distracted driving has been shown to be a major cause of large truck crashes and near-crashes, despite commercial drivers being some of the most highly trained professionals on the road. The use of personal cell phones and electronic devices in the complex environment of a modern truck, bus, or motor coach increases the risk for injuries and fatalities resulting from serious collisions.
TREDS offers free train-the-trainer workshops that prepare traffic safety professionals to deliver the Just Drive: Deliver Distraction-Free curriculum to commercial drivers.
Instructors are typically industry representatives, or other professionals, who provide safety education to CDL holders. A train-the-trainer program will model delivery of the curriculum and review program implementation.
