This session provides an overview of the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse, current trends in drug violations, and factors that may contribute to substance use among CMV drivers.

Who should attend this event?
The Summit is designed for fleet safety managers and coordinators in California who have a role in substance use policy and compliance within their company.
Can safety managers from other states register for the Summit?
No, per the scope of the grant, attendees at this Summit should represent companies based in California. Additional summits open to other states may be offered in the future pending available funding.
What is the cost of registration?
There is no cost to attend this event due to funding support from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.
Will attendees receive travel assistance?
Yes, attendees can be reimbursed up to $800 in travel expenses per UC San Diego policy, including airfare, mileage, ground transportation, and hotel accommodations. If funds remain from your $800 travel allowance, meals can be reimbursed per UC San Diego policy. Please save all itemized receipts.
How does travel reimbursement work?
Following the Summit, attendees will be asked to complete an online reimbursement form and submit itemized receipts. Additionally, per UC San Diego policy, all attendees will need to create a profile inPaymentWorks. Registered attendees will receive an automated email with instructions on how to create a profile.
Is there a special room rate for attendees?
Yes, please use Group Code SUS to obtain a special rate ($199) at the DoubleTree Hilton Hotel. Federal employees will receive their government rate. The reservation cut-off date is 02/26/2024. Reservations received after this date will be accommodated based on space availability and standard rate.

How much does parking cost at the hotel?

Attendees will be contacted to complete a follow-up survey to assess the value of the Summit to their company. In September 2024, attendees will be invited to attend a webinar to receive updates and share information with their peers.
