Maintaining the safety and mobility of older drivers is an increasingly important concern. Changes associated with aging, including reduced visual acuity, decreased strength, and cognitive decline, can result in age-related driving impairments. Training for clinicians and allied health professionals is available to assist with the identification and management of age-related conditions that impact driving ability.

Screening and Management of Age and Medically Related Driving Impairments

This 60-minute course aims to increase knowledge and skills needed to screen, refer, and when necessary, assist older patients through the transition into driving retirement.

  • Clinical screens to evaluate a patient’s driving ability
  • Referral and treatment options
  • California DMV reporting methods and requirements

Online Course

This course consists of four modules with knowledge checks and the opportunity to print a certificate of completion.
